Congratulations to Dan on His PhD Proposal!

🎉 Daniel Rourke has successfully passed his PhD dissertation proposal in the Energy Engineering Graduate Program at UMass Lowell. His research focuses on advancing redox-mediated electrochemical energy storage and conversion systems to enable pathways toward deep decarbonization. Congratulations, Dan!

Big congratulations to Ashley Caiado who has received both the Dean’s medal for outstanding academic achievement (the highest CGPA of the Class of 2023) and the Craig Douglas award, recognizing all of the research she has worked on over the past few years at E2STL. Well done Ashley!!!

Ashley, Shyam (from Cappillino Group at UMass Dartmouth) and Ertan gave talks at the 241st ECS Meeting in Vancouver. Ashley’s great presentation on carbon cloth electrodes for vanadium redox flow batteries made us all proud!

Congratulations to Dr. Tugba Ceren Gokoglan Barut for successfully defending her Ph.D. dissertation and receiving the “Outstanding Energy Engineering Doctoral Student Award”. Dr. Gokoglan Barut has joined Aspen Aerogels as a Senior Battery Engineer. We wish her best of luck.

Congratulations to Joe Egitto for successfully defending his master’s thesis! Joe also received the Energy Engineering Outstanding Master Student Award!!! Joe is leaving the group to start his new career as an Enterprise Solutions Engineer at NECI (New England Controls). We wish him best of luck.
